EDBT/ICDT 2011 Call for Workshop Proposals
You are hereby cordially invited to submit Proposals for Workshops and thus become a part of EDBT 2011. The topics of these co-located workshops should be related to the EDBT conference topics of interest (for a non-exhaustive list, please see the EDBT 2011 call for papers.) Please submit your proposals (in PDF) via e-mail to the Workshop Chair Kjell Orsborn, Uppsala University (kjell.orsborn@it.uu.se), no later than October 15, 2010.
As a potential workshop organizer, please consider the following points while you prepare your proposal:
- Workshops will share the conference venue with the EDBT conference.
- EDBT workshops will run on March 25, that is the last day of the core conference. Workshops can last 1/2 or 1 day.
- Workshop attendees are required to register to the joint conference event. Attendance to workshops is included in the registration fee.
- Workshops will benefit from the local EDBT 2011 organizational infrastructure and receive administrative support (registration, badges, refreshments, hotel booking, etc.).
-
Your proposal should contain the following pertinent information:
- Names, affiliations, and e-mail addresses of the workshop organizers. Please mark the primary contact person.
- Preferred date and workshop duration (see above) and an estimation of the number of expected participants.
- A brief description of the workshop, including the workshop's name and topic, and a short summary of the technical issues in the focus of the workshop. A sketch of the workshop's Call for Papers (including dates) will be helpful.
- Information on the workshop program committee (as far as available to you then) and a note on your plans regarding workshop proceedings publication.
- Short information on previous editions of the workshop series (if applicable). Namely, conference it was collocated with, number of registrants, number of submitted papers, number of accepted papers, and any other information you feel is relevant.
Based on the input you provide, the decision about the acceptance or rejection of your proposal as a co-located workshop will be made jointly by the EDBT 2011 General, Program, and Workshop Chairs.
Finally, we expect you to work with the EDBT 2011 local organizers on the mentioned details and publicity aspects of your accepted workshop.
